Not Sure Which Model?
Try our Which Educator Fits Your Dog? pickerfive questions on your dog's size, coat, where you train and how many dogs you run, and it points you at the right system. It will tell you when a cheaper model is the better buy, too.
Training Tools That Pair With Real Rewards
A remote training collar is a communication tool, not a shortcut. E-Collar Technologies systems use wide-pulse, low-level stimulation with 100 adjustable levels, plus tone and vibration options, so you can work at the lowest level your dog notices. The best results come when that clear signal is paired with something your dog genuinely wants, like our freeze-dried dog treats. Reward-based training builds the behavior; the e-collar helps you communicate at a distance. Read why in our post on why high-value dog treats are essential for training and why positive reinforcement and remote collars work together.
Why Sniff and Shift Carries E-Collar Technologies
Our customers are active dog owners. You train, you travel, you show up at car meets and trailheads with your co-pilot. E-Collar Technologies fits that lifestyle: reliable range for open spaces, waterproof and shock-resistant construction, and a lock-and-set feature that keeps your working level consistent. It's the same reason we make single-ingredient, high-value training treats, good gear and good rewards make training stick.
Choosing the Right System
Match the system to your dog and your life: the Micro Educator ME-300 for small dogs from 5 lbs, the Mini Educator ET-300 as the do-everything favorite, the Easy Educator EZ-900 for intuitive multi-dog handling, the Pro Educator PE-900 for advanced features, and The Boss ET-800 or Upland UL-1200 for big dogs and 1-mile range in the field. Working K9 handlers should look at the K9 Handler line on 33" bungee collars. Not sure? Responsible Use Matters
These are training tools that should be used correctly: proper fit, low-level communication, clear timing, and plenty of positive reinforcement. They are not a replacement for training, relationship, or consistency, and they don't fix behavior problems overnight. New to remote training? About E-Collar Technologies
E-Collar Technologies is the company behind the Educator line of remote training collars. The company is based in Garrett, Indiana, and its systems are assembled in the USA. Sniff and Shift is an authorized dealer, which means the 56 systems, straps and parts on this page come through the manufacturer's dealer channel.
What the systems share. Every Educator collar uses low level stimulation with 100 adjustable levels, plus tone and vibration modes, so you work at the lowest level your dog notices. Receivers are waterproof. The lock and set feature holds your working level so it cannot drift mid session. Range runs from a third of a mile on the Micro Educator to one mile on the Boss and Upland models.
How the line is organized. ME-300 Micro for small dogs from five pounds. ET-300 Mini as the everyday system. EZ-900 Easy for one handed and multi dog use. PE-900 Pro for advanced features. ET-800 Boss and UL-1200 Upland for large dogs and field range. K9-400 for working handlers.
Every system is a communication tool, and the behavior itself is built with rewards. Our training treats are single ingredient and sized for repeated rewards.
FAQ
Are e-collars safe? Used correctly at low levels with proper fit and timing, modern remote training collars from E-Collar Technologies are designed as communication tools, not punishment devices. See our full E-Collar FAQ.
Do I still need treats if I use an e-collar? Yes, rewards build the behavior. The collar just helps you communicate at a distance. High-value training treats are essential.
Which range do I need? For neighborhood walks and yards, 1/3 to 1/2 mile is plenty. For hunting, field work, or big open country, look at 3/4 to 1 mile systems. The picker asks where you actually train and matches the range to it.
How do these ship? Training gear may ship directly from the manufacturer or a fulfillment partner and can arrive separately from your Sniff & Shift treats. Orders over $50 ship free with standard shipping (expedited shipping not available on training gear).
Responsible use: use these tools with proper fit, low-level communication, clear timing, and positive reinforcement. Consult a qualified trainer if you're unsure.
